S10-2 on 10.5.4

S10-2 on 10.5.4

Postby Shinrai » Sat Jun 20, 2009 12:52 pm

Hey,

I was able to get OSX on this netbook though a few things are not working. First of, youtube!

I just used a guide Carlos at s10lenovo.com and just worked around the other stuff. Updating to 10.5.5 or higher causes crashing so I just used the plain msiwindosx86 installer. Wifi works but not sound, camera.

PS Mods, please fix my youtube links. =((

I checked some forums and yes, those three aren't working right now maybe because lenovo upgraded the camera, sd slot and sound hardwares. However, I saw shin mentioned he was able to fix the sound so dalawa na lang, and probably the ethernet too.

here are my observations when i got my Lenovo S10-2 on Mac OSX 10.5.4 from Shinrai:

LAN, sleep and the camera doesn't work :( ... sound is faint, you almost can't hear it from the built-in speakers... i connected my x-mini max speakers and the sound gets amplified but its still not much... plugging in my iPhones headphones, i now can get good enough sound... usb ports are kinda "buggy" :-? as sometimes they can not detect connected devices... it needs a reboot #:-s with the usb device connected... tried the sd slot and it worked! :-BD was able to download pics and videos from my DSLR's sd card... can't get my SmartBro prepaid to work =(( , the modem "disappears" when i launch the SmartBro program prompting me to connect the modem and restart the application... bluetooth seems to be working as it detects and connects to my Logitech V470 bluetooth mouse but is having problems pairing with it #:-s ...

hope somebody can find work arounds for these problems... :-w TIA...

***edit: tweaked the sound settings on the System Preferences and sound is much better upon reboot, on my x-minimax speakers! :D
***edit no.2: cam works on yahoo messenger!!! yahoo! :-BD

Must have been an issue with my SD - it was just an adapter for microSD. Try s10lenovo.com, that's where they post solutions. Those will likely come in next week, since the US and Europe doesn't have stocks yet.

bottomsup, can you try switching your wifi off (right side, near the usb ports) before going to sleep mode? I remember my s10's wifi preventing my lenovo going to sleep before.
